Done-For-You Reactive Dog Training
Afraid to take your dog on a walk, to the park, or to your in-laws’ house because you’re afraid they’ll be aggressive and bite a dog or – worse – a human being? In just a few weeks, we can take your aggressive, nervous dog and give you back a confident, calm companion who shows respect for people and other dogs. Our Time-Tested 8 Step Process For Eye-Turning Confidence & Obedience
Get Comfy
We spend the first day getting them as comfortable as possible. Then we ease them into treat training, leash training, and crate training so they’re ready for everything that’s still to come!

The Basics
We work on the basics for the next few days – sit, stay, and heel – to build a strong foundation for the rest of the training that we’re going to do with them.
03.
Advanced Commands
We move up the ladder of complexity with commands like place and wait. You’ll never feel out of control of your dog again because they rush at people or out your front door!
04.
Add Distractions
We now start to work on the same commands in more high-distraction areas. Our goal is for your dog’s obedience to work anytime, anywhere, and in any location or situation!
05.
More Variations
Next we work on subtle variations of the commands, like down and down-stay. You’ll love the diversity and control you’ll have even with complex commands.
06.
Field Trips
Next we proof your dog’s training in the “real world.” We take them on field trips to places like the park, restaurants, and the hardware store. You’ll love taking your dog to your favorite haunts and having your friends comment on how well they’re trained.

Off-Leash Skills

We took our 4-month-old Doberman mix to Mike and you can see the changes in Sasha – her behavior is top notch, she’s no longer skittish around other dogs or humans, and she will follow commands upon prompting. K9 Unleashed is incredible! I had my dog go through the board and train program for 2 weeks of obedience. Before he left, it was embarrassing to take him out in a public place where other dogs were present because he was so reactive towards other dogs, I just couldn’t control him. When I picked him up, I didn’t just get my goofy boy who’s personality was the same as when I left him, but now he listened. He would heel on the leash, no pulling, and I could walk by another dog without him going crazy. He’d even listen to me when I told him no for chasing the squirrels in our neighborhood! Why should I do a balanced board-and-train and not another training style?
We’ve used lots of training methods over the years. We see the best results from our done-for-you board-and-trains using balanced training methods.
It’s better than purely “positive” training. We love giving your dog treats, and we use a lot of them! But you want your dog’s obedience to stick even when the treats go away. That’s why we use gentle corrections to train your dog as well. Also, positive training takes longer and may not work for every dog. Want total off-leash obedience and you don’t have the time to take six months or more to get your dog there? There is no better method than a board-and-train using balanced methods.
Also, there’s a lot of misconceptions about corrective tools! We don’t use prong or e-collars to punish your dog or shock them into submission. Instead, imagine these tools like a tap on the shoulder. When your dog locks onto something and is not paying attention, a small tap on the shoulder with the tool gets their attention. It also brings them back into a learning mode where you can tell them what’s acceptable and not acceptable in that moment. This is especially effective with high-drive dogs.
It’s better than in-home training. Our board-and-train method is the fastest and easiest way to get the results you want. In-home training is kind of like your contractor showing up at the site and training you how to do your own construction. If you wanted to build it yourself, you could have used a book or YouTube to do that, and it’s certainly not the quickest and easiest way to build your house. That said, it’s not the most effective way to train your dog either!
It’s better than group classes. Group classes work well for training specific things to lots of people at once and for building social skills with your dog. Want your dog to have the dedicated, focused training necessary to get them to great confidence and full obedience fast? Don’t have time to attend group classes? A board-and-train package is the way to go!
How often will my dog get out to exercise?
We love to get your dog out to have fun, play, and stretch their legs! Our dogs that are boarding with us get out at least 5x a day, and our obedience training dogs get out even more than that! Your dog will have plenty of opportunities to get out, run around, and socialize, even if they’re reactive (under supervision). Unless you’re walking your dog every couple of hours, your dog will likely get more exercise and activity with us than if they were at home!
How often will you be in communication?
We’re generally hosting 20+ dogs at any given time. While we would love to be in communication with you everyday about your dog, it’s just not realistic.
That said, in order to give you as much communication as possible, we have a dedicated app that we use to communicate with you every couple of days on request. When your dog comes to stay with us, you can download the app, and send a message directly to our lead trainer, Michael. He will get back to you as soon as practical to answer your question or give you an update about your dog! He will also message you when your dog hits a milestone, so you can celebrate with them as they progress!
Is my dog ever going to be unsupervised?
Your dog will be under careful supervision except when they are in their kennel or playing with other dogs in the yard. Reactive dogs can also play with other dogs, but they will be under supervision while they do. Unlike other kennels where dogs are left unsupervised at night, we have a live-in trainer always on-location at the center, day and night. You’ll never need to worry that your dog will be alone or in danger!
Will my dog be safe against floods, heat, or escaping?
Our center is designed to keep your dog safe, healthy, and comfortable. See the above section about our training center to read about our top-of-the-line safety features.
